Our Family

Jim and Kay Richardson are the owners of Richardson Farms.  Jim is a Retired Veterinarian, Board Certified in Canine/Feline Medicine. Farming has been part of Jim's life from early childhood. Jim spent many hours as a child farming with his grandfather near Gainesville, Texas.  This experience as a child has provided Jim with a passion for farming and his love of animals. He has a unique prospective concerning animal care and welfare gained through 35+ years of veterinary practice. He has continued to farm and have bountiful gardens throughout his professional working years. His dream has always been to share his love of farming with others. Kay is a retired Registered Nurse. They have three children: Mike, Kari, and Lance (see below for more info).

Their son, Mike, and his family Amy (wife) and step-son Connor currently live in Bryan, TX. Michael is working back on the farm full-time and Amy is an RN working as a flight nurse for PHI Medical (a local air ambulance company). Connor has graduated from High School and is now attending Blinn College, in Bryan, TX.  It is sure nice to have Michael back on the farm.  He has new energy and fantastic ideas on what needs to be done with the farm/animals.

Daughter Kari, and her husband Brian Bersano live in Chandler, TX.  They have three children; Lauren, Andrew, and Lindsey.  Kari and Brian own a medical supply company, Edge Medical Supply, with Brian being the COO/CFO.  Kari is also an RN working prn, however, her main job is housewife and CEO of her family!  They've helped out on the farm with rebuilding an old farm house, planted acorns, and helped build a chicken coop, among many other things. The kids have made it a yearly ritual to spend one week each by themselves with us on the farm helping with collecting eggs, feeding turkeys and chickens, and caring for our pigs. We so enjoy the one on one time with them!

Son Lance Clark, his wife Cheryl, and two sons Logan (5 yrs) and Gabriel (2 yrs) will be leaving the farm in December.  Lance has been accepted to a Pathologists' Assistant program at West Virginia University's School of Medicine.  It is a 2 year graduate program and he is excited to be back in the field of biology and pathology.  It has been amazing to have them live on the farm with us for the past 3 years.  Especially watching the boys grow up and have fun.  They will be GREATLY missed but we know that this field (pathology) is something Lance has always been interested in.
